The Incidence of HBs Antigenemia and Positive Rate of Anti-HBs in Glomerular Diseases and Control Group in Children

Abstract
|
|
|
HBsAg and Anti-HBs were examined with Reverse Passive Hemagglutination in 147 patients with glomerular diseases and in 249 patients with other diseases as a control group (the patients with acute or chronic liver diseases and past history of transfusion were excluded), who were admitted to the pediatric wards or visited to the outpatient clinics of department of pediatrics, Chonnam University Medical School, from March, 1982 to October, 1984.
The results were as follows.
1. The incidence of HBs antigenemia and positive rate of Anti-HBs in control group were 5.2 % (13 of 249 patients) and 8.8 % (22 of 249 patients) respectively.
2. The incidence of HBs antigenemia and positive rate of Anti-HBs in renal diseases group were 10.9%(16 of 147 patients) and 7.5%(11 of 147 patients) respectively.
3. The overall incidence of HBs antigenemia in renal diseases group was statistically higher than that of control group (p<0.05).
4. The difference between positive rate of Anti-HBs in renal diseases group and that of control group was not statistically significant.
